Popular Events
Although Manhattan is a small community, it has events happening all the time. Below are some of community members’ favorite annual events, but local businesses frequently host unique events such as themed parties, trivia nights, live music, karaoke, and more.
Arts in the Park
During June and July, Arts in the Park brings brilliant, weekly concert acts to City Park, right in the heart of the city.
Third Thursdays
Every third Thursday during June-September, Downtown shops stay open late and there are a variety of performers, live music, art exhibits, activities, food and drink specials, and more.
Taste of Aggieville & Taste of Downtown
Each year Aggieville and Downtown host an event where people can visit participating restaurants in those districts and sample small portions of their signature dishes or drinks.
Purple Power Play
City Park hosts the Purple Power Play pep rally each year before the first K-State football game. Vendors circle the park and the K-State Pride of Wildcat Land performs on stage with cheerleaders and Classy Cat dancers.
Trick or Treat in the ‘Ville and Downtown
Each year people of all ages get dressed in their Halloween costumes and trick or treat at the participating businesses in Aggieville and Downtown.
Festival of Lights
Just blocks from Downtown, Blue Earth Plaza transforms into a winter wonderland each holiday season. People can grab hot chocolate, take a carriage ride, and enjoy the festive lighted displays in the plaza.
Little Apple New Year’s Eve
People gather in Aggieville to celebrate the new year and see The Little Apple® ball drop at midnight.
K-State Athletics
Grab your purple and get ready to cheer on the cats at one of the many games hosted throughout the year.
