Community Initiatives
Starting 2000 to 2014 The City of Manhattan lead an initiative called Downtown Tomorrow which worked to ensure continued vibrancy and economic stability of the downtown areas. Over the next 14 years, the City worked to complete several different projects including creating the Flint Hills Discovery Center, Blue Earth Plaza, The Manhattan Conference center and much more. This development was envisioned to encourage growth in the community, enhance Manhattan as a regional shopping and entertainment area, and protect the investment made in Manhattan Town Center years ago.
